WE ALL HAVE CHOICES

I watched the Sunday Morning CBC News with excitement to see a segment called: "Healing The Planet, One Step At A Time." What does it take for a busy urban doctor to reduce his carbon-emissions footprint to nearly zero? As the government defends its controversial new green plan, we meet a man who's taking matters into his own hands.

Words from editor Jonathon Psycho: I haven't had a drivers license for over two years now. I have lost almost 100 lbs, I'm healthier, I ride a bike or take the bus, or rent a cab or a limo for special events. Either way you slice it I have more money to live because I don't have to pay for automotive insurance, maintenance, gas which seems to keep the automotive owner on the edge of their seats with the roller coaster ride of prices, not to mention a finance or lease payment every month.

Every year most people find it very difficult to contribute to their own RRSP, yet they have no problem spending handfuls of cash on their need to remain lazy to the convenience of a vehicle. Consumers do not realize that the automotive industry is a big machine that keeps pumping out vehicles of all shapes and sizes for every persons possible need, just to sell more products.

These products are contributing to the problems that we all face on a daily basis. Just look at what everyone is saying: http://www.willyoujoinus.com/?source=paidsearch

Realize that in this day and age with the government forcing us to be double income families, the need to save for our future doesn't just mean saving with your RRSP but saving our natural resources or at least using them in a way that promotes healthier lifestyles.

Brian "TOO LOUD" MaCleod 15 Years Ago A Fallen Star Of Ours

Brian Too Loud Maclead Past away 15 years ago today!

Brian 'Too Loud' MacLeod
guitars/drums - Pepper Tree, Edward Bear, Chilliwack, Headpins
Juno Award-winning producer
born June 25, 1952 - April 25, 1992
succumbed to cancer.
(Holly Woods - Toronto): I remember working with Barney on ASSAULT & FLATTERY. We were having a spaghetti supper on his boat talking about my career as a solo artist. We'd just finished writing one of the tracks. He co-wrote, produced, played guitar - did practically everything on alot of that record. He sat in the control room while Darby and I sang "Cats & Dogs" and we just laughed the whole time. He was definitely one of a kind.

It was one of the worst days of my life, like the day the music died. I went to Brians funeral on Thursday April the 30th of 1992, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. It was a hot afternoon and Bill Henderson played "Four Men" on his guitar and sang on the stage beside Brians coufin and beside that was a large photo of Brian Too Loud Maclead.

There were a lot of people there that day and as the bag pipes played following Brian to the Hertz that awaited outside, people followed.
The Interment was conducted at the Ocean View Burial Park, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. He was placed beside a beautiful tree.

I periodically would visit Brian and as I sat there in the peace of god I could hear the children play at a close nearby school. Every time I would visit Brian I would notice that his flower pot was empty and no flowers had been placed, so I would place some and think about the fun days when Brian was here with all of us, sharing his talent to bring us all closer together. I miss that the most.

There is a lesson here somewhere I am sure.

I see kids delaying their responsibillities and hiding from their chores, I see a lot of people delaying their dreams because they have to stay on the roller coaster ride that only allows them so much time to do the things they really love.

Brian went for what he wanted and the only thing that stopped him was Cancer, actually it was pneumonia that got him in the end, but nevertheless he was a fighter and we went for it all the way. Never put off today what you could have done yesterday and you will find yourself further then every before.

With enormous amounts of love and respect to all who knew Brian, BARNEY, Too Loud, Macleod, his family, friends & fans.
You will never be forgotten Brian, we love you and miss you, the world is truely at a loss without your touch of magic.

Parents Just Don't Understand!!!

Kids are always saying that adults don't understand, or that parents just don't understand!

Funny thing is Parents & Adults alike are all feeling somewhat the same way about the kids these days too. "What is wrong with that child?"

Simply put there is no reasoning with children as their brains are not developed enough to handle simple math yet, let alone any complexities we adults deal with on a daily basis.

Firstly children have a lot of time on their hands, or they used too, before video games & the internet started to become a life force to be reckoned with. Nevertheless children have more time in a day to daydream or stall their responsibillities then your average adult. There are far too many distractions these days then when I was a child. My god I can only imagine how hard it would be for me to study or do homework with all these bells and whistles going off (MSN, Cell Phones, Blackberrys, blueberry's, video chats and game sites, chat rooms, blah blah blah) the list goes on and on.

I can remember my folks telling me to turn on the radio or the television so I could concentrate better, I would think, OMG, your kidding me I can study with music on or the TV!

Today Children are doing their homework on their computers with printers and built in calculators with MSN running with four hundred people talking back and forth playing ring tones and sending mini's back and forth with files of music or video's or whatever, blah blah blah, once again the list goes on and on.

All I am trying to get at is that there is a lot of distractions kids face these days as a result of finding means to keep our children busy so that we can continue being double income families.

sounds like I just took one for the kids but facts are facts.

If we want to start cleaning up the mess that WE MADE, we first have to start realizing that it is OUR MESS. Then we need to start developing better communication skills with our children.

Would it actually hurt to sit down and create some type of schedule that involves everyone's wants and needs, hey! what a concept. Of course taking priorities into consideration.

Kids need to be taught to understand certain family values that have been passed down from generation to generation. What happend to the last two generations of our social civilization? Would it be the wars we've endured? The coming of Equal Rights? What was it? How have we evolved to the point we are at now and what can we learn from that study? How can we correct our path for the sake of humanity and our future as a planet?

With proper time management you can accomplish anything... ANYTHING!!! yes you heard me right. Time is money, you've heard that before I'm sure of that. Well there is nothing better than time. IF you were a rich dying person you would buy more time if you could, but you can not. That is why time is NOT money, it is far more precise then money.

Children have lots of this commodity, this untangable entity we all strive to have more of called time. The older we get the less time we seem to have to enjoy any of the things we work so hard for. What kind of initiative is that for our children to look at and see? While we continue to be double income families, thinking that we have it covered by throwing all those gagets at our kids to keep them busy, meanwhile they see you running around like a chicken with it's head cut off thinking hey man I'm staying right here in yougsville where there is NO responsibillities.

Last but not least, children, teenagers and the like, need to understand what it means to RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!!! it means to understand that they have already dealt with handfuls of idiots in their life time, worked many hard hours and had things taken from them and they've already been deprived of things when they were kids from they're own parents.

Bending rules every once in awhile is for those who deserve the rules bent. If your parent does not bend rules for you then maybe it's because your not meeting your parents half way in the first place, smarten up and start pulling your own weight. Nothing is free in this world. I used to be one of those kids that would yell out " I didn't ask to be born" Well I think that I found the answer to that stupidity or comment that a lot of kids seem to say now or think that they didn't ask to be born and that the world owes them something on a silver platter.

You may not have been asked to be born, just as your parents didn't prey to god to have a lazy child that didn't want to amount to anything either!!! They did their part by giving you a shot at an opportunity of a lifetime!!! literally. The rest is up to YOU!!!

You have 18 years from birth to take advantage of the free education, room and board, food, clothing, dental, medical, PLUS daily lessons in love, happiness, anger, pain & loss through the nurturing knowledge of a parental form. After 18 everyone expects you to have your shit together, and they won't bother to hold your hand after that, plus if you need more education it's not free anymore that's gonna cost ya too!!! So if you want to sit around and play all the way up to 18 and beyond then don't expect everyone to still be there handing out care packages and holding your hand.

My father told me when I was a kid, when you go to bed at night, ask yourself two things.
1) Ask yourself what you did today that made you a step closer to your goals?
2) Ask yourself what you can do tomorrow that will help you get closer to your goals?

Never prepare FOR a worst case scenerio, ALWAYS prepare FROM the worst case scenerio, work from the inside out, not from the outside in. Keep it simple.

Time Management, Proper schedules, Communication skills, family meetings, any other idea's folks, I am open for comments on this one, as you can see there is so much to discuss.

Seung-Hui Cho, 23-Years Old - Virginia TECH Shootings

This is a perfect example of what I am talking about!

People are so quick to say why? WHY does GOD allow bad things to happen.

HE DOES NOT, WE DO, our society DOES, we are all too busy with OURSELVES, and our selfishness chasing that pot of gold at the end of that rainbow somewhere.

I'm serious people we really need to re-look & re-think our social ethics and our social make up within our own family values and what really matters. Can we really afford to leave OUR children ALONE in the hands of computers, the internet, video games and the entertainment industry via movies & music? Just what are we exposing to our children as acceptable in our society.

Seung Hui Cho is a good example of a person that probably needed a lot more profesional treatment then he got, or should have recieved, so is he to blame? is god to blame? NO! We are, his family is to some extent, I realize they are suffering enough at this time, but for the sake of arguement I think they too would agree, it's not the lack of love to want to do it, but sometimes it's the time and or money to do it.

Thus the government forcing us to be double income families to support all of our endevours that we have been brainwashed through the masses of media saying what job is popular or what job pays the best, go figure? What jobs are these, are they making the rules as they go along to fit the needs, forcing us to work certain jobs, male and female alike as far as the so called equality women fought for years ago, NOW where are we?

Someone has to stand up and start saying something about this. It's not just GUN LAWS or DRUGS, it's TIME and what can we afford to spend TIMEWISE. What the government allows us to have timewise with OUR families. What keeps us apart? what draws a family apart?

Every man or women for themselves is pretty much the times we live in along with the disposable mantality of easily replacing whatever you need from jobs to relationships to everything down to a bic razor.

We spend far too much time chasing materialism than we do chasing spiritual knowledge and hightening ourselves to a better level of conscience. Become more aware of the economic & social dimise we are following.

It's moments like these that make me feel ashamed to be human.

Would love to hear some input on this.

Why Can't We All Get Along?

Why can't we all just get along?

We all breathe the same air and need clean air to breathe.
We all have the same organs.
We all have the same color blood.
We all have the same emotions.
We also ALL have the same basic needs.

Wow, We all ALSO live on the same planet.

What separates US from keeping it all together as a planet?
MONEY?
GREED?
SELFISHNESS?

Open for comments on this one, please feel free to honestly say your peice on this!!!

The Evolving World We Live In

In every environment there cannot exist one species without the other, from insects (with the exception of A sexual) to animals to humans, from air, sea to land, you will see both species in each environment.

In each environment there are certain laws that exist through the laws of nature, such as: only the strong survive. etc.

Having said that, there are obviously rules; some rules have been recorded in biblical times to be written in stone, such as the Ten Commandments. Man has made some laws over the centuries passed down through time. These laws have been made to protect us all from evil.

We are all here for a short time only, it would first seem like a lot at first but as you get older you realize that it goes really fast. So it doesn’t make sense to become possessive of anything materialistic because you can’t take it with you. You can only leave it behind like some type of legacy. Makes sense to have a strong estate planned. What is an Estate?

An Estate is all of your worldly possessions in one big pile, tangibles & non-tangibles added up in total worth, less your liabilities, that then becomes your total net worth. This is to be left behind in the trust of someone that you trust, like a beneficiary.

If while your living and creating your fortune or fame and your hording away all of your worldly possessions, where do you think they’re all going to end up when your gone? If your greedy and not the sharing type then think about the end of your time, who is going to get your stuff then? Wouldn’t it make sense to have someone you can trust?

Sure you can hire a lawyer or elect someone to become your executor. But when it comes right down to your blood, your tears, sweat and pain from all those years of hard work, to know that you did it all for a reason.

Back to the species of male and female

Lets look at animals for a moment, because for only ten thousand years or so, man has been evolving to present sophistication. Billions of years before man, there evolved a lot of species, both male and female. A species cannot avoid extinction without procreation with the opposite sex without this there own species would become extinct. (excluding A sexual species)

The laws of nature

Man? A funny contradicting species, always looking for approval no matter what form it takes, either from idiot friends, parents or spouses, one way or another man is persistent on achieving goals or solving problems.

Woman? A constant work of art always in motion, with all senses at 100 and capable of more, confused in this world to take the ring or share some passion with the other species that seems to have lost their game book of rules or the program booklet to explain what’s going on.

I guess what I am saying is that for a long long long long time things were going a certain way and now for only 50 or 60 years, were going to let our whole society collapse around us because were going to let the dollar bill run our lives as a human race.

What does our future bring us?

Lazy fat kids, that know how to push buttons and click mouse’s and order fast food or play video games. Have you had a look out there, do you see what we have let happen.

Were all guilty of it, we all got caught up in the OH I have to have that syndrome. Hey women, don’t let the man hold you down, you can be your own boss you can hold your own business you don’t need man.

Guess what, hook line and sinker you all fell for it and for some time now the only one’s reaping the rewards from this is the GOVERNMENT, hey double income families? Who would have thought, yes you can have equal rights, you can vote, like that’s going to change the verdict anyways, yeah you can get paid the same as a man no problem, just means twice the tax we get each year HA HA HA.

So in the meanwhile we have to deal with all these little problems that will stop those parents from deciding to both work, oh wait I know we’ll allow all inventors to submit ideas for toys to keep kids really busy, addictive games, internet, buttons easy stuff you know, then the kids will be really busy playing games, mommy and daddy can both work and come home to a bunch of fat stumps sitting in front of screens pushing buttons. Yeah that should do it.

And many years later we are still all doing it, working for it but not having any time to enjoy it and all we're doing is building and investing in a dysfunctional society for the future.

All were doing is teaching the future to be more focused on the convenience of a disposable society, in relationships, in jobs, in everything.
