The Meaning of Life

Yes I am actually going to tell you the meaning of life, believe it or not. This topic has many views and many opinions, but I am sure that once you have read what I have learned that soon you too will see what I am talking about as far as the meaning of life is concerned.

When I sat down at the edge of the bed that my father lay in at the Surrey Memorial Hospital In British Columbia. My father was terminally diagnosed with a brian tumor, he fought this battle for six months and lost to this deadly illness we call cancer. As I sat at his bedside I could see and hear my fathers final disposition.

It was not about the acolades on the wall, or the cars in the driveway, or the house, the mortgage or any possession he owned. It was about memories, it was about the lives he had touched & the people that have touched his life.

Funny thing is, like I mentioned in an article about suicide and the ride. Once the ride is done you want to go back and do it again. My father said these words " I want to start over again".

Whatever it is that make us get up every morning and carry on with our lives, some of us give up and don't want to play anymore. My words to these type of people are: Um yeah, don't be lazy just do it, try and then try again, then try again, have fun doing it, make fun out of nothing that's what I do.

I could quit too, but I'm here out of respect for my father. I'm sure there is someone you want to make proud. If you feel you have let someone down then hey you still have the rest of your life to offer something.

The meaning of life:

It's about creating memories, living out your journey of adventures, living your life to the fullest, giving everything you have and then a little bit more. My father gave everything he had and in the end he left with nothing materialistic, but took with him an enormous amount of memories. He touched so many lives. He was a very generous man always giving of his time and help for so many people over the years.

Ny father was a city administrator, a member of the masonic lodge and a father to five kids whom he provided for with above average effort. There are not enough words I could type to praise him. The only thing I can really say to sum it up is that I can only try to become half the man he is.

The meaning of life is about creating memories and living out your adventures on your journey through life, so that when your lying on your death bed you will have many good and bad memories to take with you.

So if the meaning of life is to create good memories and touch lives then why are we all treating each other like the kid in the sandbox that won't let you play with one of his toys. This is our country that one is yours this is our oil that is your lumber this is our fresh water. Guess what it is all a gift to all of us, we need to learn to share more and deal with our problems better. Africa and other parts of the world are starving and ill from disease, but we can't just give them our resources or we'll lose our power? what is wrong with our society today, everyone is out for themselves and not caring about their neighbours.

We are all family here on this little planet and we all share in it's resources.

Start creating some good memories NOW and most importantly start to share more, like the planet does with us.
